Royal Blessing Marks Historic Milestone for Apunren Community. by Adenaike Oluwaseun Adebanjo special correspondence Ijebu Ode, May 13, 2025 – A significant step toward justice and unity was taken today as His Royal Majesty, the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, bestowed his royal blessing on the Oba-elect of the Apunren community, Chief Jimson Owode Oyelaja. The ceremony, held under the auspices of traditional leadership, followed an in-depth investigation by the Dagburewe of Idowa and the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo. The leaders had met with representatives from both Apunren and Isonyin to address claims of independence, unjust intimidation, and victimization faced by the Apunren community.
